Church History |
- The first meeting of the First Missionary
Baptist Mission was in September of 1959 at the
VFW. The work was sponsored by 30th Avenue Baptist
Church.
- The mission bought property after about a
year at VFW. The church met on property in an
old shed with a sawdust floor.
- In January 19, 1964, minutes show name as
the 60th Street Baptist Mission of Pinellas
Park. June 3, 1964, minutes state the church
voted to change the name to 60th Street
Missionary Baptist Mission. Organized on
October 17, 1965.
- Incorporated on October 26, 1965 as the 60th
Street Missionary Baptist Church.
- We are honored to have Joy Greene as one of
the original charter members still attending.
